Friday 20th January saw the first event of the C4L (Citizenship for Life) programme held at RAF St Mawgan.  Four of our students were selected for this programme following a process involving applications and interviews.  Our students were joined by eight others from Mullion and Penryn.  In total there were over 230 applications made for the twelve places.

Friday began with a series of team building activities which allowed all the students to get to know the other participants and to meet the mentors.  This was followed by lunch in the house of the Commander of RAF St Mawgan.  After a short break to allow their food to digest the students and their mentors had to take part in circuit training.  This turned out to be quite eventful when the Commander accidently caught Maisie with his elbow resulting in a small cut above her eye – luckily it didn’t turn black.  The final part of the day was taken up by activities on the shooting range (well, at least a CGI version) and a search and rescue mission using real guns modified to fire lasers

If you want to hear more about the day please seek out our lucky C4L representatives: Harry Devereux, Rhys Barnes, Charlotte Emsden or Maisie Griffiths-Roberts
