Art & Design: Fine Art

A-Level OCR H161/H561

Course Outline

A level Fine Art is a highly creative and expressive course! Students will explore a wide range of art disciplines and media, including drawing & painting, sculpture, printmaking, textiles, lens-based imagery and mixed media to develop an individual coursework portfolio underpinned by contextual studies of artists and designers.

Further Study and Career Opportunities

A level Art is a well respected A-Level for University entrance and is an ideal
option for those interested in Art who wish to balance a very academic
selection of A levels with a more creative and practical option. Those
students intending to pursue a career in Art tend to go on to do a one year Foundation Course at Art College before applying to a degree. We benefit from close links with University College Falmouth and have a strong success rate of
students moving onto the Foundation Course in Art and Design at the University.
There are many career opportunities within Art and Design, these can be as diverse
as advertising, marketing, fashion, architecture, animation, web design, fine art,
conservation and restoration, graphic design, gallery/museum curation,
set design for film and T.V, costume design, interior design and illustration.
