An update from the Head Teacher
October 8th 2021
I hope that you are all well and that this week has been a happy and successful one for you.
This has been a very productive school week. We had a very successful Open Event on Thursday evening and I am delighted to report that this was attended by over 40 families. We were delighted to welcome them to our school and they spoke warmly and positively about the work, levels of engagement and conduct of our students. Our next Open Event for Year 6 parents will be next Thursday, 14 October.
It was lovely to see so many students supporting the Hello Yellow Mental Health Awareness event today by wearing an item of yellow clothing to raise awareness of mental health. Donations have been made to Young Minds and we are very happy to support the work that they do in raising awareness of mental health and wellbeing for young people.
Earlier this morning, a group of students set off with Mr Sheer to the Peninsula Surfing Competition which took place at Praa Sands. We wished them well as they set off and are proud that they represented the school so well.
In other news, I have today received 33 CO2 Monitors. We will now plan where these are going to be sited. We are still waiting to hear when the vaccinations will be taking place and I will of course inform you of this as soon as we hear.
The weather forecast looks promising so whether you are off to the beach, about to embark on a woodland walk, catching up with some gardening or just relaxing, I do hope that you all have a lovely weekend.
Yours Sincerely.
Mrs. de Sousa
Headteacher
