12.11.2021 Letter to Parents

November 12th 2021

Another week has flown past and we have had a very busy and productive five school days: it is quite extraordinary how much can be achieved in this time and the Newsletter contains some examples of what students and staff have been involved in.

I would like to begin by thanking Matthew Pellow in Year 13 and Mrs Munns for playing the last post as we marked Remembrance Day with a period of silence and reflection at 11:00. The whole school observed this moment as we remembered the service and sacrifice of the Armed Forces community from Britain and the Commonwealth, the special contribution of families and of the emergency services and acknowledged the innocent civilians who have lost their lives in conflict and acts of terrorism. On Sunday, the Head Students and I will be taking part in the Remembrance Sunday Parade and Service at Kimberley Park as we lay two wreaths on behalf of Falmouth School.

Chritmas Food Box Campaign

I am delighted to announce that Miss Roberts will be co-ordinating the Cornwall Christmas

Food Box campaign. This wonderful charity provides thousands of food boxes for families in Cornwall at this special time of the year. We would like each Tutor group to support this venture by completing a box each. The deadline, by which time we need to be ready to send our food boxes to the charity is Friday 3rd December. If you would like to find out more about the work that they do, please follow this link https://cornwallchristmasbox.co.uk/. I have also included with this letter, an indication of the items that the charity would welcome receiving if you would like to make a donation.

Anti-Bullying Week

Anti-Bullying Week 2021 will be taking place from Monday 15th - Friday 19th November and the theme this year is One Kind Word. This theme will be shared in year group assemblies with further activities being completed during Tutor time.

I would like to thank you for your continued support and hope you have a lovely weekend.
