    We are coming to the end of what has been a year of challenges for everyone. We have made some huge changes here at Falmouth School, which were just starting to settle when the Covid-19 virus appeared. At a recent staff meeting, online of course, we reflected on how we have begun to build better relationships across the whole school community and the local area, invested in staff, particularly in our ‘Welfare Team’ and for students with individual needs and also shifted the focus of school ‘s character.

    We have just received some information from the Government about opening school in September. We expect more information to be released soon and we need to work out how we can apply the advice to Falmouth School but I am sure you would like to know some of the main headlines.

    Thank you for your feedback in the past week. We have continued to expand the broadcasts to all year groups. For Year 10 in school from next week we have put in place some face to face support for history and geography, as well as other subjects where we have the staffing available.

    It has been great to see Year 10 students in school again this week! Students have been getting used to the 2m markers outside for queuing, the hand washing and sanitizing routine and the desks spread around classrooms.

  • Black Lives Matter

    We were all appalled at the events leading up to the death of George Floyd in Minnesota. There has been international condemnation of the brutality involved. Many young people have expressed their outrage including some of our students and others who have recently left us.

    Thank you to all of you for helping to keep children progressing with their studies. This is a challenging time for us all and we are trying to put in place systems that help you even though this is so different to the way we usually work. I am sure that we will find that some of these methods are an improvement on what we normally do but at the moment it is all very strange to us all.
