This is the time for us to take an active part and to make a difference in the town and I am pleased to report that the Junior Leadership Team will be welcoming members from Plastic Free Falmouth to their future meetings. We have joined the following organisation and details of what they do can be found here https://plasticfreeschools.org.uk In addition to this work, we have also been invited to take part in a community outreach garden project-more details will follow later this year.

This has been a very productive school week. We had a very successful Open Event on Thursday evening and I am delighted to report that this was attended by over 40 families. We were delighted to welcome them to our school and they spoke warmly and positively about the work, levels of engagement and conduct of our students. Our next Open Event for Year 6 parents will be next Thursday, 14 October.

The last eighteen months have brought such a variety of challenges and disruption for everyone and so it is more important than ever for us to recognise the need for all of our students to be in safely in school learning. Getting our school environment right depends on everyone working together with collective responsibility in a supportive and positive way. To support this, our team of dedicated tutors have continued with their regular contact with home, established during the lockdowns, into our day to day work.

As the last newsletter of the year I would like to say goodbye and good luck to the students and staff who are leaving us. We have students taking their exciting next steps into higher and further education and the world of work, and there are staff moving on to new challenges. I know that many people are looking forward to the changes to rules around covid Monday 19 July. At school we will maintain our current measures for covid until the end of this term. This is because the local numbers of cases of covid are still high.

I am happy to say that the numbers of staff and students with Covid and self-isolating has fallen this week. I hope this continues and that we can look forward to the rest of the term without many more cases. However, the situation is very unpredictable and we all need to take care to stay safe.
