February 12th 2021

Dear Parents and Carers

I would like to echo the words of Chris Challis, CEO of TRMAT, in thanking all of you for the support you have given to our students this half term. Remote learning is not easy for anyone and we all are looking forward to being back in school. I am sure that very many of us will be watching the Prime Minister’s announcement on 22 February when the roadmap forward is to be explained, to hear when students can be back in school safely. For the meantime we have been reminded by Cornwall Council that we all must continue to respect the lockdown rules to guard against another local increase in cases of coronavirus.

I would like to congratulate our students for the fantastic effort that they have put in this half term. There are many examples of great work that students can be proud of and this will stand them in good stead when we return to school. It is important that they keep up with as much as possible, please email in requests for help where it is needed. Most importantly of all, do not worry! As long as we have done our best, there is nothing more that can be asked of anyone!

There have been many examples of kindness this half term which I would like to thank, for example; parents volunteering to help here in school, we have had anonymous donations of brand new laptops, cakes sent in by a member of our community, staff who are also volunteer drivers and I am sure you are aware of so many other generous offers of support across the community. Finally I would like to pay tribute to our school staff who have continued to do their best to support children and their families at this time.

I hope that your half term holiday is a restful one and look forward to seeing your children in school before too long after the break.

Yours sincerely

Alex George
