Dear Parents and Carers
I hope you all have had a lovely Christmas despite the restrictions!
Unfortunately the recent news about the Covid-19 virus infections has had an impact on the start of next term. I wanted to email to let you know how this will affect Falmouth School. I am sure you appreciate that this is what we know at present and there may be further changes if the situation with the Covid-19 virus develops.
Monday 4 January 2021 – this will be an INSET day as originally planned and no students should attend.
Tuesday-Friday 5-8 January 2021 – there will be NO students in school, EXCEPT for those who have national exams who will need to come in for their exams only later in the week (Engineering, Child Development and Creative Media) AND children of critical workers and vulnerable children.
Vulnerable children and children of critical workers (definition through this), may attend school from Tuesday 5 January and will be supervised by cover supervisors. They will be completing the same online work their peers will be completing at home. Parents of vulnerable and critical workers’ children should only return their children to school from Tuesday 5 January if they cannot arrange supervision for them. Parents of vulnerable and critical workers’ children can book their child into the school’s provision by contacting school by Monday 4 January at 9am on
From Monday 11 January 2021 – students in exam groups i.e. Year 11, 12 and 13 should return to school. Remote education will continue for all other students. Children of critical workers and vulnerable children may attend school as above.
From Monday 18 January 2021 – all students return to full time face to face education in school.
You will have also have heard of lateral flow testing for Covid-19 that will be taking place in schools. We are still receiving information on this and we will let you know more once we have made our plans.
Best wishes and a Happy and Healthy New Year!
