Sporting news

We have had a very busy week with lots of different sports fixtures happening.

The year 7 rugby team took part in a rugby festival on Tuesday hosted by Richard Lander School at Truro College. The team had a fantastic start to the festival by winning their opening games in the starting pool against Cambourne and Richard Lander, meaning they went through as pool winners. After a short break the team started their next round of matches playing another three games against St Ives, Truro School and Richard Lander. We beat Truro School and Richard Lander but we lost to St Ives unfortunately. Overall we finished second winning 4 games out of 5.
The Year 7 team have worked really hard over the last couple of weeks developing their knowledge, understanding and skills in rugby. Keep up the hard work and continue to progress as a team.
Well done to all the players selected, it was a brilliant team performance.
On Tuesday 9th November, fourteen year 8 & 9 girls represented Falmouth School at the Cornwall U14's Hockey tournament. All students' efforts were exceptional on the day, despite the unpredictable weather and competitive hockey was played throughout. At the end of the tournament, the squad did an anonymous vote for player of the tournament which resulted in both Isabel (goalkeeper) and Sadie (centre back) gaining equal top votes for their brilliant attitude and effort. Overall the girls did a great job at representing Falmouth School showing determination and resilience throughout. Well done to all fourteen.

Our netball fixture this week saw five of our netball teams travel to Pool School. All the girls played extremely well with consistent defence turning the ball over, centre court carefully bringing the ball down through court and our shooters getting themselves into excellent shooting positions to score the goals.
Year 7 Falmouth Falcons won their game 11-0
Year 7 Falmouth Futures won their game 13-2
Year 8 Falmouth Fire won their game 15-0
Year 8 Falmouth Fever won their game 8-0
Year 9 girls won their game 15-9.
