    Spring Term Celebration

On Thursday 31st March 2022 we were delighted to invite parents and students into school who had been nominated to receive an award as part of our spring term celebration event. We welcomed close to 200 parents into our main school hall to spend time celebrated and recognising students outstanding effort, progress, achievement and contributions to our school and the local community.

Each subject taught within the school nominated four students for an award. Certificates and subject badges were proudly received by both winners and nominees. Progress made, achievement and work ethic were all celebrated for all years from 7 to 13.

An beautiful musical performance by Lily in year 7 featured, which moved many of the audience present to tears.

27 students were selected in the next section of the evening for 'special nominations', where any teacher in the school could nominate a student for going 'above and beyond', for 'stepping out of their comfort zone' or for their other special contributions.

The celebration event concluded with the headteacher’s award - given to our sixth form president Mya, for being an inspirational student leader who has organised and orchestrated the Falmouth School/College and Community response to the conflict in the Ukraine. To have done this required resilience, determination and organisation. Mya has led this whilst attending all her Sixth Form classes, attending University interviews and Open Days, being a support to fellow students and sourcing the charities to take the goods to the refugee camps. Mrs De Sousa went on to state she was proud to have a student in our school who is driven by their social and moral conscience and who is so determined to make a difference.

We would like to congratulate once again all of the nominees and winners of the event. We are already looking forward to the next celebration event in the summer term.
