Year 8 student Rosa Davies will get back in the pool for charity again next month, as a massive challenge lies ahead! Rosa and two friends from other schools in Cornwall will be swimming a whopping 10km each (30 km in total) to raise money for the Australian bush-fire victims.
Rosa Davies and her friends will swim 400 lengths in total on the Sunday 15th March and are delighted that Helston pool has given them exclusive use of a lane for the day. The girls all take part in the sport of surf lifesaving in Cornwall and are keen swimmers, but admit that 10km is quite a distance, with the swim expected to take around 5-6 hours.
Last year Rosa and the girls did another charity swim totalling 10 km (3.3km each), raising £800 to help build a school in Nepal. It’ll be a big challenge this year, as the girls look to triple their longest ever swim. Good luck girls!
