Training for Ten Tors 2020 is well underway at Falmouth School! For 2020 we have last year's 35 mile team plus some new faces returning to complete the 45 mile challenge and a completely new 35 mile group, who are currently training in the hope of securing a spot on the team. It all started back in November with navigation training on Perran Sands followed by a coast to coast walk. The training programme has steadily increased the demand on the students, introducing them to day walks on Bodmin Moor and Dartmoor before finally completing their first full weekend on 25th and 26th January. The British weather has been particularly challenging for the students with heavy rain, mist and strong winds accompanying them on most weekends.
Outdoor Education lead Ben Tregear said “The students have given it their all and are developing into another great team. A big thanks has to be given to Mrs Tredget and Chris Mayer. Without their support, these weekends would not be possible.”
The event takes place over the weekend of May 1-3, 2020.
