GCSE Results 2019

Falmouth School students were delighted as they collected their GCSE and BTEC results today.

Bill Stuart-White, on behalf of the Trustees, said “As new Trustees getting to know Falmouth School, we have been amazed and delighted to see the energy and commitment put in by the students to such a broad range of subject areas. The excellent results awarded at both GCSE and BTEC are a credit to the students who have worked so hard to achieve them and to everyone who has helped to support and encourage them. We warmly congratulate every single student and wish each one well for whatever path they now choose”.

Brett Miners, Headteacher added, “Our students can be really proud of these great results and the progress they have made which are the result of their hard work through school. We know that it requires determination to do well and congratulate our students on their effort. They can now enjoy the rewards of this!’

Students achieved excellent progress scores in the wide range of different courses available. In catering, child development, music and sport at least half of the grades were at distinction or distinction* grade!

Matilda, Rosie, Eifie, Rory and Matthew achieved 33 of the top 8, 9 and Distinction* grades between them, across the subjects Art, Biology, Chemistry, English Language, English Literature, French, Geography, History, Maths, Additional Maths, Music and Physics!

These results reflect the commitment and hard work of our students, supported by their parents and carers, and the dedication of our staff.

It is a pleasure to congratulate so many students on their GCSE and BTEC results. We wish them all well for the future, we know there are many different paths ahead for them including apprenticeships, employment and continuing their education. Our results in the College last week were also impressive. Many of the students will be returning to join Falmouth College in September to continue with their studies. We look forward to working with these students and building on their achievements.
