Following an outstanding level of dedication, Year 10 student Hugo Arbones has been selected to take part in an elite level cyber-discovery competition. Hugo, who has also recently been named deputy Head Boy, made the final cut of less than 200 places from 28,000 applications and four stages of selection.

Cyber Discovery, HM Government's Cyber Schools Programme, is an extracurricular learning programme for students aged 14-18 across the UK. Its goal is to ensure that many more people enter the cyber security profession in the coming years. Only top performing students will be selected to take part in CyberStart Elite; a unique and exciting face-to-face event designed to help accelerate your entry into the cyber security profession.

The event takes place from 23-25 July at Brighton University, so look out for further updates. Hugo's ICT teacher Ms Trezona was delighted to see him selected. "This is an amazing achievement. He has worked almost every day to get himself into a position to be selected and he deserves to be, so I'm delighted for him. I've no doubt he will do extremely well in the competition and I look forward to hearing all about it" she said.
