Following on from the fantastic news that Falmouth College student Morgan Bowden was awarded ‘Star of the Year’ at the recent annual University of Exeter Excellence Awards held, Falmouth School and Falmouth College are delighted to announce 12 further winners on the night.
In its seventh year, students and staff from the South Shore Education Partnership (Falmouth School, Helston Community College, Mullion School and Penryn College) flocked to the University of Exeter’s Penryn campus for what is always a superb occasion.
Awards on the evening recognised ‘Academic Achievement’ and ‘Positive Contribution’ and from a Falmouth perspective, featured a male and female winner from Lower School, Upper School and the College.
In the Academic Achievement category the winners were Joshua Halligan, Nikola Backura (both Year 8), Matthew Pellow, Mya Gurrin (both Year 10), Morgan Bowden and Ben Godwin (both Year 12). It was Emily Rowe, Aaron Jones (both Year 8), Reuben Hesser, Eleanor Hingston (both Year 10), Hannah Attree and Callum Kerr (both Year 12) who picked up the awards in the Positive Contribution category.
Deputy Headteacher, Alex George, said “It’s great to see our students being recognised for their excellent work by Exeter University. These students should be delighted with their awards and they should realise that they stand out as our ambassadors across all of the four schools in the South Shore Partnership. Well done!”
