A group of Falmouth School students had an Easter to remember, as they enjoyed an amazing skiing trip to Ponte Di Legno and Passo Tonale. It was a long 30 hour drive to Italy by coach, but by the time the group launched onto the slopes it was all worth it! Conditions in the resort were fantastic, with fresh snow falling almost every day. This was coupled with some amazing clear days, which created superb skiing conditions.
The beginner groups started on the nursery slopes, while the more advanced group were assessed before going off to tackle some of the more challenging runs. By the third day it was amazing to see that everyone had progressed enough to be skiing on the more challenging slopes and despite a few falls, all students (and staff) survived the experience and are now competent skiers.
There were some great après ski activities, including an entertaining bum boarding session, disco and quiz, each followed by a delicious four course meal. On the penultimate evening there was an awards ceremony carried out by the local ski instructors, recognising the amazing progress that all students made.
Trip leader Ben Tregear said “The students were fantastic and a credit to the school. They all had so much fun, as did the staff who helped make this such a safe and successful trip. A huge thank you to must go to Elemental UK for coordinating the trip.”
