Bake Off raises £100
Lower School students raised over £100 last month in the bake off competition to celebrate European Day of Languages. Year 7 and 8 students baked cakes and decorated them with the theme of a European country.
There entries from all over Europe, ranging from Estonia, Denmark, Iceland and Ireland. Italy was a particularly popular choice with entries designed as pizzas, the leaning tower of Pisa and the Roman colosseum.
Harry Campbell won the year 7 competition with a pizza illusion cake complete with pizza box and receipt, with Polly Chamberlain’s brilliant Spanish flamenco dancer cake winning the year 8 prize. All of the fantastic were sold to raise money for the Macmillan coffee morning.
All students who took part in the competition won small prizes and 10 achievement points for taking part. Winners per house received 25 achievement points each and overall winners 100 achievement points for their fantastic creations.
