We are delighted to announce that the Governing Bodies of Falmouth School and the Killigrew Partnership (King Charles School and St Francis School) have now completed an extensive period of due diligence work over the past 12 months and have agreed to form a Multi Academy Trust of the three schools, to be known as Falmouth MAT, that will start on September 1st 2017.
The thirty Governors involved in the decision to form the Falmouth MAT come from a wide range of key stakeholder groups across Falmouth including families, students, staff, local businesses and the Church. The Governors vote to form the Falmouth MAT was unanimous.
Dave Nicoll, Chair of the Killigrew Governing Body was delighted to make the announcement on behalf of the Killigrew Partnership stating, “The Governors of the Killigrew Partnership unanimously approved the formation of a multi academy trust with Falmouth School. This formal partnership will allow us to build on the existing joint working that takes place between our three schools and this local approach can only enhance the education provision in our community of Falmouth”.
Glyn Williams, Chair of Falmouth School’s Governing Body further states, ”ensuring an educational partnership based in Falmouth, that maintains the responsibility for future decisions regarding primary and secondary education locally, has been central to the vision of Falmouth MAT. The MAT Board of Directors will come from the Governing Bodies of Falmouth School and the Killigrew Partnership, and Brett Miners and Claire Fortey will continue to lead the Secondary and Primary schools with Mr Miners also undertaking the Chief Executive Officer responsibilities for Falmouth MAT and Mrs Fortey undertaking the Executive Principal responsibilities”.
