Packed Poly for Tincan!

DSC_0235

Falmouth College’s ‘Tincan Theatre Company’ was the hottest ticket in town last Friday night, with queues stretching to over 50 metres down the road from the Poly in Falmouth. The group performed a variety show as the culminating part of their BTEC Level 3 Performing Arts course at Falmouth College.

Attended by over 160 people, the evening was a resounding success with a packed house and large queues along the main road for tickets showing the undoubted popularity and expectations of the performance from the company.

The performance celebrated all that is so great about musicals, British comedy and contemporary music. The company, ably aided by performers form Y7, 11 and 12 from school, were given a standing ovation at the end. Y10 students Mollie Reburn and Jasmine Thomas saw the show and said “We were amazed at how good they all were at so many different kinds of performance - the choreography, singing and comedy acting was first class.”

Course leader Jeremy Eden, who was also the compere for the evening, is hoping that this will become an annual event to show off the broad range of talents that students at the school have. “The night was a huge success and I’m so pleased that all of the student’s hard work was rewarded by the support they received. Hopefully this will become a regular night as it really gives the students something tangible to aim at.”

The performing arts course in run in conjunction with Falmouth University. For full details of this course and the many others offered at the Falmouth College for all post-16 students then please contact college@falmouthschool.net or ring 01326 371395 for a prospectus and an application form.
