Four local primary schools got together at Falmouth School on Friday May 6th to take part in the Year 5 and 6 tag rugby festival.
King Charles, Marlborough, St Francis and St Marys all brought mixed girls and boys teams to play in the festival hoping to qualify for the CVOC West Tag Rugby finals to be held the following week at Redruth on Friday May 13th.
Some brilliant and often flamboyant tag rugby was played on the day and the crowd of parents that descended upon Stadium Pitch were thrilled by the skills on show.
King Charles ran out worthy winners in the end, with St Marys finishing in second place on tries scored. They and St Francis were equal on the head-to-head and therefore qualify for the finals.
Year 9 leaders Zane Goodwin, Bartek Machnik, Ollie Kingsbury and Ben Clark refereed the festival and showed maturity, knowledge and authority beyond their years. A huge well done to them for making it a fantastic afternoon.
